Ready to Stitch

The latest quilt top is batted, backed and pinned now. I like this particular patchwork pattern because it's easy and looks pretty in any fabric, but also because the lap-size version exactly fits my sewing table, so I don't have to pin it on the floor.

For the backing fabric I went with a plain white Kona cotton; mainly because that's what I had on hand but also because it's a gift for a baby. White backing allows Mom to easily see if baby's had an accident on it. :)

The quilting thread I chose was a good color for this one. I believe it will take me three or four weeks to hand quilt.
