Elsa

As of last Saturday we're in the cone of probability for Hurricane Elsa, so we're preparing what we need if we lose power. Being rural means the electricity is always the first to go out here. We did a test-run of our generator last month when the season started, and it's ready to go.

Because weather is always an issue here we stay well-supplied all year, so I don't need to do any shopping. We'll fill up the cars this weekend because getting petrol after a storm is sometimes a problem and/or very expensive. Just before the storm arrives we'll check on our neighbors, move the outdoor plants at risk into the garage, and set up our emergency lighting. I have a battery-powered radio to keep track of Elsa's progress. After that it's just a matter of clean-up.

If you're in the cone of probability, do take care and make sure you have all you need to get through the storm.
