Summer Stitching

I've started stitching the first panel of my summer art quilt, which is helping a lot. I work on it for a couple of hours before I go to bed, and the calming effect of slow stitching helps clear my head, so I sleep better.

For the center of the panel I decided to stitch a big spider web. Couching the hair-thin metallic thread is tricky, but I love the effect when light shines on it.

Here's a little web I did on another art quilt a few years ago, to give you an idea of how the new one might turn out.
