Since my last two rounds of wannabuts failed I'm now bidding on what I absolutely need for my winter projects, namely yarn. I also used a strategy of bidding on lots that looked less than brand new, as those often go without any bidders.
This 6.6 lb. lot has the brown yarns I need (they're at the bottom of the tub), so I bid at $8.00 max. I won it with no challengers for $7.99.
This lot is nothing but white yarns, the other color I need, which is very popular. I was fine bidding $9.99 for it (and I won it for that price with no challengers!) My strategy of going for less than perfect-looking lots was working.
This 17 lb. lot has some pretty greens that I don't have in my stash, so although I didn't think I'd win it I bid $10.00 max -- and yet I got it with no challengers for $9.99.
I didn't expect to win all three lots, but I'm delighted, because now I have all the colors I need, plus some that I wanted to add to my stash -- all at prices I can afford. :)
