The one major project I finished last month was the Birches applique quilt kit, which turned out great.
I mended this sample garment sweater from Fabscrap (details in an upcoming post.)
I managed to complete a small project for twenty-seven of the thirty art prompts for this month. Some days I did skip so I could work on spring cleaning in the afternoons. These are the watercolor paintings I liked most from them.
I also liked four of the paper projects I did for the prompts. These two were small but fun.
The larger collage projects went on my idea board, along with my scavenger-hunt recycling goddess.
Finally I kept up with my calendar scroll embroidery project, and stitched a line for every day in January in colors that reflected my mood that day (I also beaded a few special days.) This is great stitch practice, although it's not turning out anything like I thought it would.
The most difficult part of keeping up with everything I had planned for January was working on several projects per day instead of one. Not being able to finish much this past month left me feeling a little at odds with myself. I enjoyed all the extra creativity, but I prefer to work on one thing at a time and finish it before I move on to the next thing. So for February I'm going to set aside the collage, sketching and painting and focus on my sewing. Stay tuned to see how I do.
