I had a fairly productive creative month in May, which included making this remembrance piece for my mom on Mother's Day. I think this is how I will celebrate her every year now.
I also pieced and quilted this house patchwork to make a practice quilt for my embroidery. In the months ahead I want to embellish it with all kinds of flowery stitches.
I continued working on my linen quilt, and successfully finished quilting and embroidering the center row of patchwork. An experiment in stitching sunflowers added what looks like a little Muppet head to my quilt, which is just the kind of happy accident I love.
Even the littlest projects gave me calm this month. I stitched this muslin bag with some very old thread in a variation of feather stitch, just to make it pretty. Sometimes just doing that is enough to bring joy and peace.
