Slow going on the koi quilt this week, which will continue to be my pace as I'm back to writing full-time on the first project of the year for work. Once I finish stitching the eighth block around the furoshiki the center will be done, and then I'll start on the sides and ends.
For this quilt I'm trying to focus on keeping my stitches small and straight. I'm not perfect, obviously, but I'm doing better. These colors make me think of koi and the beach and other things that make me happy, so I always feel good after I work on it for a few hours. That's the best side effect of hand-quilting this piece.
The backing fabric is starting to show my progress with the quilting, too.
