Last month our nephew came to visit (hopefully he'll be moving in shortly) and we took him to the Winter Garden saturday farmer's market to walk around and see all the goodies. That included this one-ton pumpkin on display.
On our way home we stopped at Goodwill, where I found some fun things. First was this brand new in the package Soho Loft 3 drawer closet organizer for $7.99. They retail for twice that, and it had never been taken out of the package. I'm going to use this to store crochet patterns.
Next were two books; I've read the Linda Howard and own a copy but it's falling apart, so it's a replacement. It's OOP and costs $9.99 for a Kindle version. I've never read the Nathaniel Philbrick book and while I didn't much enjoy his last one about Custer, I would like to know more about the Mayflower versus the crap I learned in school, and he's the man for historical accuracy. This one retails new for $8.95. I got both for $3.98.
Finally I found a big bag of three skeins of yarn for $5.99. Two of the skeins are Bernat Blanket Speckle, which retail for $15.24. The Mandala sparkle runs about $5.87 a skein and matches a hat I made a few years ago; now I can make a scarf to go with it.
Total retail new for everything I bought was $55.33, but because I thrifted them they cost $19.13. I also rounded up to make a donation and paid $20.00 cash for everything. Here's the receipt.
