Up There

After a lengthy and rather tedious process of gathering all the approvals and permits from our HOA and county, we can now replace our ancient (26-year-old) roof. The men came yesterday to leave the shingles up there. If weather permits, they will get started ripping out the old roof on Monday.

We had hoped to get this done before the start of hurricane season, but despite our efforts it took nearly two months just to get all the green lights from all the entities who believe they have the right to decide what we can and cannot do with our property. Usually I'm okay with that, as I understand some types of home improvements can be polarizing, but because of that we're now replacing a roof during storm season. That should not happen.
