For my latest garden update (I'm writing this on 11/22) I'm happy to say we're still growing things. The colder weather has inspired our strawberry plants from last year to thrive again; they've already begun flowering. Our second round of cucumbers only yielded two for us to eat before bugs and the lower temperatures started killing the vines. There are some little ones on them but they probably won't survive. Still, we learned a lot about when we can grow them.
The herbs are loving the cold, and the formerly dying oregano (center) is making a strong comeback.
We're getting lots of radishes now, and have some brussels sprouts to look forward to sometime around Christmas, I think.
The pole beans are doing amazing. We have them twice a week now.
I asked my guy to plant some bell peppers for me as I used them in a lot of recipes but they've gotten really expensive at the market ($3.00 for a single red bell pepper is too much.) This will be the first time we try growing them.
I'll be harvesting these pole beans to have with our Thanksgiving dinner, which feels wonderful. It will be the first time I've ever had food we grew ourselves on the table. We need more of that.
