A Little Better

After spot-treating the dye bleeds on the vintage double wedding ring quilt I gave it a wash and dried it. The difference isn't too noticeable in the before and after photos I took, but the treatment brightened the white patchwork and faded the migration spots. My guess is that the quilt is probably 70 to 80 years old but was never used because of the dye bleeds. Aside from the color migration issues, the fabrics are all in near-mint condition.

I considered repeating the treatment process to see if I can lighten the bleed marks more, but regular use will do that, too, and it's a usable quilt. So I think I'll leave it as is and use it as a summer quilt for the guest room.
